I became a first time mum again

So when asked is this your first baby, I answer no.. its my second.

However looking at my parenting journey from conception right until now, I do feel like a first time mum.

The whole experience feels new. Could it be that I have forgotten so quick what it felt like to be a mum or is it just that kids are different… Who knows

All I know is everything is different, and difference is what makes the world colourful. I guess its also what makes parenting so much more interesting.

So what is different? you ask!

Lets start with having excessive nausea and vomiting as compared to my first where I only vomited twice in 9months. Or is it the labour which for some reasons felt more painful than my first even though I “already knew what to expect” or should we talk about why one likes to talk and the other likes to play with you.. Or should I mention how one skincare products I can bet works now suddenly no longer works but another one works for this new baby or is it the fact that one hated bottle but the other doesn’t mind which means is used to get food inside his stomach as long as he is full.. The list is endless. So yes it’s my second baby but it my first time experience with this new/second baby.

Differences are what makes this world beautiful

While reflecting on this. I realised one thing. Every child is different, every child is unique and as parents we ought to know each child and meet them at the point of their individual needs. Understand each child. Dont compare but appreciate the difference they have and help them to achieve and reach their potential, while still maintaining the standards, memories and values you have set for your family.
